The full moon is often described as a time of intensity, illumination, and release. For me, it’s less about drama and more about honesty.
This is when things come into focus — what’s been building, what feels heavy, what’s ready to be softened or set down.
I don’t always perform an elaborate ritual, but when I have the energy, I like to mark the moment intentionally.
✨ My Simple Full Moon Ritual
1. Create a small moment
I light a candle, open a window if I can, and take a few deep breaths. Nothing fancy — just enough to signal that this time matters.
2. Reflect
I ask myself:
What feels heavy right now? What am I holding that no longer needs my energy? What has come to completion?
I might journal, or I might just sit quietly and let the answers surface.
3. Release
Sometimes I write down what I’m ready to let go of and tear the paper up. Other times, I speak it aloud and imagine it leaving my body with my breath.
4. Close gently
I thank myself for showing up. I extinguish the candle and let the ritual end without rushing back into noise.
This ritual doesn’t need to be perfect or powerful to be meaningful. It’s enough to be present.
The full moon reminds me that release can be soft. Illumination doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Sometimes clarity arrives quietly.
